Raymond Lam Released from Hospital for Spinal Injury

Posted By:  Ðeviou§ @ Yesterday, 09:45 AM

Earlier, Raymond Lam Fung experienced a sharp pain in his spine. Doctors found that one of Raymond’s vertebrae had shifted, pressing down on his spinal nerves. Raymond was discharged from the hospital the day before. Physical therapy was prescribed, but adequate rest was critical during the recovery process.

When the physical therapist re-aligned his vertebrae, Raymond suddenly saw black spots in his eyes. The pain was so intense that he nearly fainted. It has been ten years since Raymond last entered the hospital. “Earlier, I was filming a motorcycle scene. Perhaps the helmet was an improper fit [and triggered the vertebrae to shift]. When I got home, the pain was so severe that I could not get up. After being discharged from the hospital, I still need to wear a neck brace.”

Posted By:  Ðeviou§ @ Yesterday, 09:44 AM

Forty-two-year-old retired actress, Chingmy Yau Suk Ching gave birth to a seven-pound baby girl on August 21st. Chingmy’s good friend, Anita Yuen Wing Yee, confirmed the baby news and praised the girl’s beauty. Due to Chingmy and her husband, Shum Ka Wai’s quest for a boy, Chingmy many intend to have a fourth child.

In 1999, Chingmy married IT fashion mogul, Shum Ka Wai and had three daughters: 9-year-old Shum Yuet, 6-year-old Shum Yat, and new baby, Shum Sing (temporary name). Since this was her third delivery, Chingmy stayed in the hospital for only three days and returned home on August 23rd, successfully dodging the paparazzi’s notice.

Anita Yuen said excitedly, “I visited Chingmy earlier. The baby girl is very cute and looks a lot like Chingmy; she’s a beauty! I told my son, Morton, to pay attention. It’s okay that the girl is younger than him by a few years. Chingmy does not have a preference whether the baby is a boy or girl, although the media continues to report that she is chasing a boy.”

Chingmy’s close friend, Sandra Ng Kwan Yu said, “Congratulations to Chingmy! The baby is a real beauty.”

Chilam Cheung and Anita Yuen Move into Larger “Nest” to Prepare for Second Baby

Posted By:  Ðeviou§ @ Yesterday, 09:42 AM

Celebrating her thirty-ninth birthday last week, Anita Yuen Wing Yee revealed that her birthday wish was to have another baby. Recently, Anita and husband, Chilam Cheung, moved from their 1,500 square feet apartment (with monthly rent of more than $60,000 HKD) to a 3,000 square feet luxury apartment (with monthly rent of $150,000 HKD) in Repulse Bay . Moving into a larger home may be an indication that the couple are preparing for their next baby.

Anita and Chilam’s son, Morton, is currently four years old. Anita halted her filming projects and wished to have a second child before turning forty years-old. Reporters spotted Chilam and Anita scouting for a new apartment earlier, specifying the requirement that the new space should be 3,000 square feet in size.

Chilam decided to rent the luxury apartment on Repulse Bay Road due to its quiet surroundings. The apartment was housed within a low-rise building with a dozen floors. Each unit had an average of over 3,000 square feet in space. The couple fell in love with the unit and did not mind the higher rent.

It’s okay that the girl is younger than him by a few years.Reporters spotted Chilam and Anita driving in the neighborhood of their new Repulse Bay home. Confirming moving into a new home, Chilam said, “Yes, we lived in the old apartment for some time.” (Was the move in preparation for a second baby?” Chilam dodged the question and said that the old apartment was located too far away. Anita smiled happily while listening to Chilam’s response. Chilam said, “The old apartment was located near unsafe roads. I am not a good driver!” (You’re not a good driver?) “Not as good as Aaron Kwok Fu Sing.”

From Anita and Chilam’s obvious bliss, perhaps news of the second baby with be forthcoming soon!

Celebrity “Twins”: Jessica Hsuan, Michelle Ye, and Faye Wong

Posted By:  Ðeviou§ @ Yesterday, 09:41 AM
Celebrities are most often praised not only for their talents and personalities but also for their unique and extraordinary looks. However if you take a closer look you will realize that, just like us, many of them do look like each other or at least share some very similar features.

From this week onwards, we will explore the similarities between celebrities. Each article will focus on a pair of celebrities. This week, we will focus on Jessica Hsuan, Michelle Ye, and Faye Wong.

Jessica Hsuan and Michelle Ye

Forty-year-old actress, Jessica Hsuan, who has starred in many popular TVB shows, including Sisters of Pearl <掌上明珠> and A Pillow Case of Mystery II <施公奇案>, bears an uncunning reseblance to thirty-year-old actress Michelle Ye, who is currently working on the much anticipated movie Bruce Lee, My Brother with Aarif Lee and Jennifer Tse.

Both Jessica and Michelle have identical big round eyes and similar noses. They both have the same skin color and they even have similar face bone structure. Due to her younger age, Michelle’s face looks brighter and more fresh, while Michelle’s lips are fuller and smaller than Jessica’s lips.

Jessica and Michelle have been compared many times by fans and netizens. The weirdest fact about them? Through Jessica, Michelle met Director Wong Jing and landed a contract with Rich and Famous Talent Management Group Limited. According to Michelle’s Wikipedia entry, after Jessica was unable to film World’s Finest, she recommended to Wong Jing that Michelle take her role as “Hai Tang.” Wong Jing took notice of Michelle and eventually, he offered her a contract with Rich and Famous Talent Management Group Limited.

Jessica Hsuan and Faye Wong

In addition to looking like Michelle Ye, Jessica Hsuan also bears a reseblance to the forty-year-old golden Hong Kong singer, Faye Wong. Even though they do not really share identical facial features, Jessica used to resemble Faye, especially at the beginning of her career when she still had short straight hair. Their eyes also look quite similar, while they are both tall and close at age. Apart from their physical resemblance, Faye and Jessica were both born in August, have the same bloodtype (O), have the same star sign (Leo) and are both 1.71 cm tall.

Maggie Cheung Man Yuk Can't Wait to See Carina Lau

Posted By:  Ðeviou§ @ Sep 7 2010, 09:16 AM

Turning 46 on September 20, Maggie Cheung is still a shinning star. She immediately became one of the focus when she arrived to Venice Film Festival. Although she is just staying 2 days, but she would be busy going to all kinds of event. Appearing in casual attire at the premier of her short film "Better Life," she accepted interview from reporters: "I would only stay two days, because I have other work to do. (Boyfriend Ole Scheeren didn't come?) No. (Would you go to watch Carina Lau's <<狄仁傑>>?) Of course."

Rumors of Maggie hooking up with Tony Leung Chi Wan flared after they worked in "In the Mood For Love" in 1998. Two years later, Tony even appeared on the red carpet with Maggie and girlfriend Carina at the same time. The three men appearance is very rare and it was even rumored Maggie was banned to attend to Tony and Carina's wedding. It's hard to avoid outsiders judging there is a change in their friendship.

This time openly supporting Carina, Maggie has a high chance appearing with Carina together today. This is definitely an anticipating scene for the media.

Maggie went to visit friends John Woo, Lau Wai Keung, Stanley Kwan, and Tsui Hark etc when she arrived Venice. Shawn Yue even got to meet Maggie and he was like a little fan who longs a group picture. When reporters went to ask him how did he feel, he appeared embarrassed and blushed. He just said: "Not telling you!"

In addition, Maggie expressed she is picking new screenplays but no important work has been confirmed. She is happy to continue being someone free.
