Leon Lai Implies TVB Copies Japanese Drama

Leon Lai Implies TVB Copies Japanese Drama

Leon Lai attended a RTHK radio drama event yesterday and shared his experiences of creation and reading with viewers. He displayed his role as "king of golden phrase," implying that TVB copies Japanese drama. Leon praised RTHK as the most positive, not like other stations, copying Japanese drama but won't admit it. Then he criticized that nowadays record albums only emphasize on attractive covers. In the end, out of ten songs in the album, only one song is good; why not just download the songs? Later Leon was asked whether many people are plagiarizing? He said: "It's just everyone keeps asking me, but reporters don't tell the truth, and magazines believe it would sell. But in fact it won't sell well gradually. If this atmosphere isn't fixed, soon there is nothing good to write." Telling people to download illegally? "No, talking about legal downloads. If you download illegally, you aren't in control anyways."
Talked about he would be one of the pallbearers for mentor Dai Si Chung? Leon said: "I would definitely attend the funeral, but don't transform teacher's death as a news. I also told friends around me. If one day I left, just press a button, I don't want to bother friends. But this is only my thought, have to respect teacher." Whether there are too many troubling matters near him? "No, just feeling troublesome for you guys. Don't want to reply again, it would become news if I repeat."

Jolin Tsai hit by another wave of criticism

Jolin Tsai hit by another wave of criticism
| Posted By:

She was first criticized for her Buzz Lightyear outfit.
Now, she's labeled as cheap.
No wonder pop princess Jolin Tsai is furious.
Earlier this month, Jolin's futuristic outfit for her upcoming album was criticised by popular Taiwanese blogger 'Personal Opinions'. The blogger had likened Jolin's outfit to that worn by the space ranger character in Toy Story.
The enraged Jolin immediately retaliated through her Wei Bo (Chinese equivalent of Twitter), dissing the blogger as being rude.
'Personal Opinions' recently lashed out again at Jolin's new outfit.
The blogger sarcastically listed out low prices for Jolin's new outfit, implying that the outfit was cheap and ridiculous. The article then ended off with a stinging, "Jolin's confidence: priceless".
The designer of said outfit, Fong Yee Lun, kept his cool despite the acerbic comments.
"In terms of freedom of speech, I have no rights to interfere. I do not wish to play along anyway."
Fong, who has worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years, has designed countless celebrities' outfits. Knowing that the blogger has no fashion background, she commented that "disregarding him is better than flaring up at him".
'Personal Opinions' is a blog owned by a 30-year-old Masters graduate who has been receiving widespread attention for his straight-talking style and unreserved criticisms of celebrity fashion.
He responded to the reports through his manager, stating that the article were not an attack on Jolin.
"The articles have nothing to do with the artistes themselves. I like Jolin and I definitely support the notion that fashion is subjective."
"I don't understand why that was construed as an attack on the celebrity."

Gong Li, Charmaine Sheh exposed as academic frauds

Gong Li, Charmaine Sheh exposed as academic frauds

In this era where information retrieval becomes increasingly easy, lying about your qualifications is risky. Especially when you are a public figure.
Hong Kong celebrity Charmaine Sheh's school, International Hotel Management Institute, was blasted as 'garbage' by netizens, as the school apparently only had 200 students in total.
Superstar Gong Li was found guilty of a similar fraudulent act a few years ago.
While the actress claims to be a graduate of Beijing University, she turned out to have only taken a self-study Sociology course there.
When Gigi Leung first rose to fame, she claimed to be student-singer with high qualifications. Reports later revealed that Gigi only studied for two years at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and she did not even graduate.
Apparently, not only Hong Kong and China stars were said to commit academic fraud. Korean actress Son Ye Jin claimed to be a graduate from Seoul Institute of the Arts.
The truth?
She was expelled by the school after merely a year of study there.

Fala Chen’s career takes off, possibly in the running for ‘TV Queen’ this year; Charmaine Sheh not concerned about awards

Fala Chen’s career takes off, possibly in the running for ‘TV Queen’ this year; Charmaine Sheh not concerned about awards

As the female lead in one of this year’s Anniversary Series <<Can’t Buy Me Love>>, Charmaine Sheh is being viewed as the favorite to win the TV Queen award at the end of the year. Even so, it can hardly be said that she has no competition: with fellow TVB actress Fala Chen being elevated to ‘first-line fa dan’ status this year, the immense popularity she gained after her performance in the recently-aired series <<Ghost Writer>>, the praise that she has received from various producers regarding her acting, plus her participation in BOTH of this year’s grand production Anniversary Series (<<Can’t Buy Me Love>> and <<Rosy Business 2>>), she could very well give Charmaine a ‘run for her money’ in the fight for TV Queen.
Recently, Charmaine has been filming a new series with Roger Kwok in mainland China. With regard to Fala competing with her for the TV Queen award, Charmaine was full of praise for her: “She [Fala] is a very nice girl and very hard-working too.” (Are you worried that you may not get TV Queen this year?) “I say it every year: it doesn’t matter to me whether I get an award or not – all I hope for is to do my best in every series.” With temperatures reaching 39 degrees where they are filming, there were reports that many of the cast and crew members fell ill, including Charmaine, who had to return to Hong Kong for a few days to go see a doctor. Roger Kwok indicated that even he was affected by heatstroke at one point: “One time, it was so hot that I could barely stand up straight. It was quite an experience filming this series….it’s the first time that I had my hair shaved completely bald for a series -- Charmaine actually shaved it for me and she said it was a lot of fun!”
As for Fala, she wore a sexy dress to the grand opening event of the Acca Kappa store yesterday, showing off her ‘career line’. Laughing, Fala said that she is afraid to bend down in that dress, but is not worried about her boyfriend complaining, saying that she does not need her boyfriend's permission to be sexy. Earlier, there were rumors that while she was filming for new series <<The Female Martial Artist>>, she was at odds with co-star Liu Xuan over who should get more screen time. To this, Fala responded: “Liu Xuan is very sweet and is like a little sister to me. Whether behind or in front of the camera, we are very good sisters.” (Did you two exchange any ideas about music and singing?) “Not yet – haven’t had a chance. Let me ask her for her album so I can listen to it first.” Fala revealed that she has been recording some songs recently in preparation to release her first album. She also reiterated that she will not be going down the ‘sexy’ route in terms of her music career and emphasized once again that her boyfriend is not the ‘secret owner’ of the record company that she signed with.
Fellow actor Raymond Wong was also in attendance at the event. He playfully thanked Fala for allowing him to ‘tag along’ to the event and earn some ‘pocket money’. Raymond also expressed that he hopes things continue to go well in the future and that each character he portrays will have a deep impression on the audience.

Security "Ah Jeh" Doesn't Know Who FAMA is

Security "Ah Jeh" Doesn't Know Who FAMA is

FAMA (HK group) accepted a radio interview yesterday. They disclosed that before they entered the building, they had listed "FAMA" (Nong Fu) as their name on the logbook. But the security "ah jeh" (older woman) suspected that it was a fake name, making them very embarrassed. Member 6 Wing even said they would find Metro Station high executive "Yui Gor" for help, but that "ah jeh" didn't know who is "Yui Gor." Member C Kwan joked: "We would get teased by those ah jeh, but this time she upset us."
Talked about new album, the two pointed they would retreat to make music, even taking the job as producer: "Record company even gave us a 6-digit fund as production fee. We would try our hardest on this album." They also disclosed some people filmed their concert earlier and put it online. 6 Wing joked: "I also want to watch the concert again online."
